Thursday, May 19, 2011

Well while having a shower this morning I decided May 29th (my beautiful mum's birthday) sounded like a wonderful day to open my new blog Cathy Penton Atelier...and to celebrate this I think I should have a giveaway... While in my little retail shop I always loved putting little treats into the bags of my dear customers. So here is a bit of a treat to all my dear blogging friends and customers out there...All you need to do is answer 2 questions.... When you think of me....what is the first thing that comes to mind??? and what is your favourite word or quote???? I will give away 2 prizes...1 for my Australian friends and one for my overseas friends...The prize will include a beautiful magazine (and I promise I will make sure it is one you haven't got) and a surprise from my new range... Giveaway closes May 28th......Please drop by!! I can't wait to hear from you....
Give thanks for what you are now, and keep fighting for what you want to be tomorrow. ~Fernanda Miramontes-Landeros

Hey there Cathy! I am one of your (silent) overseas readers. When I think about you, I think about "making a home for the ones we love". I was afraid for a while that you might disappear from the blogosphere. But fortunately, I can see that you have more than one trick in your magic hat. Glad to see you're on the rebound! Good luck for your new venture. Miss Fanchon

  12. Hi Cathy. You asked us all what we thought of you as a person. I see you as a creative woman whose family is growing up, her children are finding their own identities and in a lot of whys we all are too. Its a time in our lives where our roles have to be redefined . We are still wives and mothers but that string is getting longer and the concept of who we are is fluid and forever changing. I don't have any quotes Cathy to give you. All I can say is to live life, live it well and enjoy your children.

  13. Hi Cathy, I have been following for a little while and I didn't quite understand what was going on with you. I didn't realise either that you were the person who designs the wonderful jewellery that I have seen in "Shabby Homestyles" and various other places. Your work is lovely and so unusual. I don't know you very well but I would describe you as ..."a mother..first and foremost". My favourite quotation is by the poet Robert Browning "A man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for."Thankyou for the opportunity to enter this giveaway, Love Linda x

  19. Hello Cathy
Thank you for the invitation to share our thoughts....
When I think of you "tolerence and sweetness" are what come to mind - for allowing me to linger for ages in your store, browsing and chatting, yet leaving without actually purchasing anything...except in my mind.
Does my favourite bible verse count as a quote? It is "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

  21. Cathy, when I think of you I think of the beautiful pendants you've made and can almost envision you making them in your office/studio.

My favorite quote has to be the one I have on my blog by Tasha Tudor:

Live life with no regrets, don't spend time thinking of past mistakes, live life in the present, enjoy the life you've made for yourself, live out your dreams!

While I don't always leave comments, I do check on you. Thanks for the chance to win. Blessing to you with your new adventure, Theresa

  22. Hi Cathy.... across the years it has to be 'Family' to me it seems all your inspiration and creativeness comes from making a home a warm and welcoming home for your family.

  23. Hi Cathy!

When I think of you, I think of "kindred spirit" - I don't know if you have read "Anne of Avonlea" by Lucy M. Montgomery but this is from whence this thought comes. For Anne, a kindred spirit was her friend that neither time nor physical space would come between. I had the pleasure of meeting you a number of years ago when you were doing the fabulous sticheries that I carried in my store "Patchwork Designs" and we chatted at length via email before blogs and Facebook. I was so glad to find you again recently and although businesses for both of us have changed, my admiration for your creativity and love of family is what binds us as "Kindred Spirits".

My favorite quote is "If life obeyed our plans and expectations, then life would only be as wide as our undeveloped intelligence." Mariana Caplan.

Good luck in your new venture, Cathy and know that I still treasure and will always treasure our friendship through time and space.

    Wendi
