Food for thought!!!

Well there is something I had to share...... I had a really nasty and negative comment left yesterday and to be honest I really just don't understand why people would even bother!!! I have found blogging to be an amazing community of like minded inspirational people who each time they blog share a little of themselves...Who would want to share that they are nasty!!!!! Anyway, I emailed the person back and told them to have a nice day because that is who I am!!!! So today I wanted to share a few of my favourite sayings..... To inspire us all to always try and be positive and happy and joyful in this very fragile world that we live in...

When words are both true and kind they can change the world - Buddha

This is my wish for you: comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you are in doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, love to complete your life.

(Kirstie gave me this on a card for Mother's Day)

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

  6. Cathy, I too have received many nasty comments, (remember my nasty fireplace lady?) sly sarcastic comments from people who don't even wish to remain anonymous!!!!, hey 'S'!! (reject button for those!)... and the anonymous one's I have received... I know exactly who they are/were, hey 'A'!!... They must be HURTING so much to be so jealous and to act on their need to strike out. They need to read this beautiful post of yours daily and also read Vicki Archer's post on confidence. It does throw you when you receive them though. Chin up dear Cathy, you are living your best life and bringing so much joy to those you meet....... we all love you to bits. Just enjoy the power of pressing that 'reject' button! A-M xx

  8. Every now and then I run across a blog that has experienced a rotten comment. I'm so sorry that yours had to be one of targets. I don't know why people do what they do. They must be so miserable that they just want to spread their nasty thoughts around.

    I really like your entry today.

  9. I have had my share of snarky comments. I agree with you, I'm not sure why they would bother. I thought we were all here to support each other. My feeling is that if you don't have something nice to say then just don't leave a comment at all!

  11. Cathy sorry to hear you have had nasty comments. They are just simply envious of your wonderful life and talent. As for me, I find it encouraging to find someone who has created such a beautiful life for themselves. It gives me hope that, if I put my mind to it, I can live my dream life also.

    What I find most strange is to target someone who has nothing but generosity and kindness to share.

    May your light continue to grow stronger. Julie

  13. I have been blogging for over five years now, and every so often there is a random "troll" comment left. These tend to be sad little people who have nothing better to do than to rain on your parade. Be the cream and rise above it. Continue to be happy- that's the best revenge : )

  21. Indeed, why would people even bother!!! Posted a Mark Twain quote on my blog this morning : ... 'It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think your a fool than to open it and remove all doubt'.

  24. I've been in love with your blog since I first discovered it a few months ago. It is so uplifting. I cannot imagine who would take the time or energy to spread bad energy, but I just had to comment to add to the good thoughts coming your way today -- and many other days. I'm a true believer that whatever goodness you put out will come back to you tenfold.

  25. I haven't commented on your blog much, I don't know why, but it is a wonderful place to rest, and find creative magic. Looking at the comments, I'd say you have many who support and send good thoughts your way, overpowering the pile of evil that dropped by. It gives us a reminder to pray for the sad ones, that they might find peace and love before the end. You are a wise woman and I admire you. The carms are wonderful, and your decorating is lovely. You are very blessed.

  29. Hi Cathy, I have had some hurtful thinks said to me.. for us sensitive souls it harder to let go.. I read this I wanted to pass it on. hope you don't mind...Do It Anyway
    People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
    Forgive them anyway.

    If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
    Be kind anyway.

    If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
    Succeed anyway.

    If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
    Be honest and frank anyway.

    What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
    Build anyway.

    If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
    Be happy anyway.

    The good you do today, people will forget tomorrow;
    Do good anyway.

    Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
    Give the world the best you've got anyway.

    You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God.
    It was never between you and them anyway
    God Bless... xoox Laura

  30. I am also sorry, there is NOTHING negative to find about your BEAUTIFUL blog or what you share about yourself. Nothing. You are an inspiration. Now even if someone does find something that they consider to be negative or less than wonderful, why they would feel the need to tell you I don't know.

  31. I love the way you responded to your negative commenter dear Cathy - a very powerful & awesome thing to do. I've had a couple & I so wish there was a word that could be written that was the exact equivalent to a big, noisy, unlady-like 'Raspberry'! You know you have the total & unending support of those that matter.

  32. I can't imagine why anyone would leave a negative comment on your lovely blog, but you know it is not about you. something is going on with them that has them use cyberspace to vent.

    I am sorry that this happened to you, but I know it won't get you down. since I have been blogging this is only the second time I have heard of this happening so it doesn't seen to be TOO common.
