Yummy butterfly cakes ..... food tastes and memories...

Raspberries are one of my favourite things to eat... Growing up on my gorgeous family farm, where we had wild raspberries growing every where...I take a bite of a raspberry and I am there again sitting in the long green grass feasting till I am full to overflowing but happy and content in the simplicity of that life....I try to as much as I can to bring those simple  joys into my children's lives....so this morning while Kirstie is in the midst of so much uni assessment ...I baked some butterfly cakes.  Tiny little butter cakes, scooped out with freshly whipped cream, a little jam and a raspberry on top and we sat and chatted just for a little while and loved on each other....
The faintest waft is sometimes enough to induce feelings of hunger or anticipation, or to transport you back through time and space to a long-forgotten moment in your childhood.  It can overwhelm you in an instant or simply tease you, creeping into your consciousness slowly and evaporating almost the moment it is detected.  ~Stephen Lacey
Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.  - from the show the wonder years
