Creative Musings - Tina Rubie

Tina is a Mother of three beautiful girls, Teacher, Renovator, Wool enthusiast and a Creative in so many different genres from Knitting and Crotchet, to Natural Dyeing {her recent new found love}, Bread Making + Gardening and so much more.

Tina gently touches the world with beauty + grace.  Watching her create from afar with traditional methods, sourcing local wools and embracing the simple details of life and nurturing what is really important.  I am hopeful that one day soon we will get to meet in person but for now I am beyond lucky to have some of her beautiful hand made pieces coming to my Winter pop-up shop.  Lets learn a little more about this incredibly talent lady.

1. If you could describe yourself in one word what would it be?

Practical

2. What inspires you the most?

My three beautiful daughters, creative and talented friends, and working with natural fibres, especially single source, small flock, fully traceable Australian wool.

3. Black, white, or all things earthy…which would you choose and why?

This is a difficult one … I love bright white and airy spaces, oak timbers, rustic farmhouse architectural features, black picture frames and hints of pale earthy tones.

4. If you could rearrange the furniture in one room of your house, what room would it be and why?

Our ‘dining room’ … which really is just a section of an open plan space between our living room and our farmhouse galley kitchen. It currently has our dining table and chairs in it, but as it’s also where our large wood fire is located, and it’s Winter here … I would love to swap out the dining setting for a small plump sofa so I can curl up comfortably in front of the fire and knit all the cosy Winter knitted things.

5. Favourite quote?

'Comparison is the thief of joy’
Theodore Roosevelt.
